Cardi B has done it again!

For, the femcee has scored her fifth #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her latest single ‘Up.’

Join us after the jump

Benefiting from the GRAMMY effect following Cardi’s performance at Music’s Biggest Night, the track has climbed five places to officially snatch the top spot.

The rapper’s latest win means she’s netted #1s with two successive singles (see: predecessor ‘WAP’).

So how did Belcalis pull off the feat?

Over the course of the U.S tracking week, ‘Up’ racked up 22.7 million streams, 18,000 digital downloads, and a radio audience of 34.9 million.

It means Cardi extends her record as the female rapper with the most Hot 100 #1s.

Cardi now the first female rapper in history with two #1 hits on the Hot 100 with no accompanying acts (‘Bodak Yellow,’ ‘Up’).

She adds to a success narrative that includes being the only female Rap artist to achieve chart-topping singles in two decades (2010s and 2020s).

Released on February 5, ‘Up’ became the highest-debuting solo song by a female rapper on the Hot 100 since Lauryn Hill’s ‘Doo Wop (That Thing)’ in 1998.

Cardi’s previous #1s are ‘WAP’ featuring Megan Thee Stallion (2020), Maroon 5’s ‘Girls Like You’ (2019), ‘I Like It’ (2018), and ‘Bodak Yellow’ (2017).

Congrats!

  9. Munchies. March 22, 2021

People kept saying last week that Drake and Rodrigo had it on lock and that Bruno would take the spot… I knew 4 sure Drake didn’t. Those 3 joints he let off where overrated. “What’s Next” was the only joint that had potential. But the others… and that included were all rocketed based off hype.

Bruno may eventually go number one. Its an amazing joint, radio friendly and infectious.

Congratulations Cardi! You deserve it all! This proves the longevity of the joint because it’s been out for over a month now. A solid joint.

    • DC March 22, 2021

Exactly cardi song has longevity i respect that Drake has popcorn hits now a days shoot up and fall off next week

  15. gooff March 22, 2021

the person that wrote it and his record label should be getting all the praise

    • Danny Bey March 22, 2021

Do y’all be sayin this sh*t to other people and every person who allegedly doesnt write their songs? You sound like clowns.

  16. Clarks0o00ñ March 22, 2021

    What?
I thought this was gonna be a cute top 10 hit, I never in my wildest dreams expected this song to hit number one

    Cardi is the moment
She is in the running right now for the queen of rap title. I’m sorry

    This is so impressive
2 number 1 songs from an album that hasnt been released

  17. Clarks0o00ñ March 22, 2021

Dear nicki minaj stans, u just cant hate cause this is impressive.

    Give credit when its due.

Everybody said cardi should have dropped her 2nd album when WAP was still hot, but cardi herself said she wanted to take her time before releasing her 2nd album. What a very smart decision that has paid of.

    • Here March 22, 2021

Damn almost made it without anyone feeling the need to mention Nicki Minaj, I guess her and Cardi are synonymous

  18. menudi March 22, 2021

    Barbz in 5….4….3…..2…..1

    Hatas gonna hate! #1 PERIOD!

  19. Clarks0o00ñ March 22, 2021

Cardi is not a good rapper but she has done a wonderful job in marketing herself and her brand.
    Her videos are catchy
    Her fashion in on point
    Her beats are catchy

The best thing she ever did was not doing excessive random features. jumping on everybody’s song/ remix. This is what killed nicki’s career. She over saturated herself with features/remixes etc.

  20. BB March 22, 2021

Payola and sympathy. Congrats to her ghostwriters, label and tiktokers for bringing this flop of a song to #1. It will be forgotten next week.

    • Bardii March 22, 2021

      “Flop of a song”

SINCE WHEN is a #1 song a flop?

Y’all dumb ass Barbz will say anything to make your ugly ass selves feel better. Accept defeat. Payola hasn’t done s*** for Cardi. Admit that the gp adores her and the music bops!

Tell your fave to step her p**** UP! 😉

    • DC March 22, 2021

Song debuted at number 2 before tik tok frenzy caught on meg needs tik tok to help her songs not cardi try again

    • DC March 22, 2021

  21. VirgoMood March 22, 2021

Her work ethic is on point! Congratulations to her and her team! She really goes against all odds..

It’s like the more they keep trying to drag her name through the mud, the more successful she becomes..

  22. POPS MUVA March 22, 2021

PERIODTTTTTTTTT BELCALIS!!!!! EMPRESS OF RAP. Not Nickie Minaj not Meghan Thee Stallion not Doya Cat noneeeee

  23. Susan March 22, 2021

Congrats to queen of rap cardi b!!!!

    • Susan March 22, 2021

      And this is SOLO!!!!!!

  24. Susan March 22, 2021

At this point, Nick the granny just needs to announce her retirement. Nicki cannot compete with cardi

  25. Brooklyn Fan March 22, 2021

This is the reason why Nicki Minaj tried for so many years to block other rap girls from getting shine. She knew this is what would happen the day someone actually was allowed to have a machine behind them the way she had a machine behind her. She would be exposed as a mediocre artist and the new girl would easily take the top spot, and that is exactly what happened when Cardi came in the scene. Cardi ended Nicki’s career so effortlessly, it’s actually crazy to think about it.

Congratulations to Cardi B. Remember, we have to use Nicki’s standard when deciding who the Queen of Rap is: “to be the queen of rap, you’ve got to sell records, you’ve got to get plaques.” Nobody is selling more records or getting more plaques than the RIAA diamond-selling GRAMMY Award-winning artist Cardi B. Nicki is washed. Splish splash. Hang it up. Flatscreen.

    • DC March 22, 2021

And Nicki used Wayne n drake to help her get introduced she needed a crew young money couldn’t do it alone like cardi

    • Susan March 22, 2021
